Deciding to stay, Basset paid his way through a modest entry into hospitality, via pot washing and waiting on tables, which led him on a journey to a new obsession: wine. It was this adoration of all things vinous that drove his illustrious and many-faceted career, eventually resulting in him holding the title of Master Sommelier and Master of Wine simultaneously.”
