Our Ethos

We are building a future where a career in wine, spirits & hospitality has the potential to improve livelihoods and is open to all, irrespective of background or circumstance.

Our Mission

To improve livelihoods by empowering disadvantaged communities and uplifting under-represented professionals in wines, spirits & hospitality

Our Mandate

To fund education, training and mentoring in wine, spirits & hospitality to:

Improve livelihoods

Create equity of opportunity

Enhance diversity & inclusion

Our Vision

For the wine, spirits & hospitality industries to be recognised and successful as a vehicle for social change for all

“This opportunity has been life-changing, educational and transformative.

With a budding curiosity about wine, but limited prior experience, I wasn’t quite sure where to begin. This experience has enabled me to think how I see myself  and the power I can now genuinely hold in the spaces I walk into”

Grants

We deliver grants to carefully selected partners who serve economically disadvantaged & under-supported communities to provide education, skills and training qualifications.

Scholarships

We provide scholarships & bursary awards to serve professionals from under-represented communities working in the industry to improve their skills, broaden their education and enhance their careers.

Mentorship

We build networks, facilitate internships, deliver mentoring and cultivate alumni engagement to increase inclusion and opportunity across the industry.

Our Funding

The Foundation is mandated to fund educational and professional programmes focused on supporting diversity, equity & inclusion in wine, spirits & hospitality internationally.

Our mission is to provide funding for programmes that significantly enhance the career opportunities of those that they support. We fund credible programmes that support a diverse range of communities including:

  • Cultural & socio-economic diversity

  • Ethnic diversity

  • Religious diversity

  • Gender diversity

  • Sexual orientation diversity

  • Disability diversity

Whilst our Scholarships primarily support those undertaking higher level qualifications e.g. MW & MS, our Grantee programme seeks to support a broader range of communities & individuals at earlier stages in their career journey.

To date, we have supported 66 varied Scholars and Bursary Recipients since our founding in 2021. These scholars comprise 28 different nationalities, living and working in 23 different countries across 6 of the world's continents. In addition to these Scholarships, we have supported 30 Grantees in 16 different countries across 6 of the world's continents. The Grantees comprise organisations ranging from grass-roots non-profits to globally renowned research institutions, and each project which we support with them fulfils our mandate of promoting diversity and inclusion in the wine, spirits and hospitality industries.
