Huu is a Hospitality Professional specialising in F&B Management. Despite growing up in a rural Vietnamese village, in an environment where hospitality was not a well known career path and not knowing anybody in the industry, Huu decided to pursue a Bachelors in Hospitality Management due to his love of “travelling, meeting new people… embracing new cultures”. His first step after graduation took him to Dubai, working at Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa, interning in the F&B department. In his own words, Huu found the experience “absolutely life changing”. Working alongside “more than two thousand associates representing more than fifty countries”, he had to adjust fast. Taken aback by how much he had yet to learn about the world, Huu threw himself into communicating with people from a wide diversity of backgrounds, gaining new perspectives and strengthening his character. He gained in confidence and cultural understanding, and found in himself the qualities which he searches for in a leader, namely “self-understanding and sustained motivation”. Since his time in Dubai, Huu has gone on to further develop his skills and abilities, working as a Restaurant Manager in the Waldorf Astoria in Shanghai, and currently as Assistant General Manager of the Blue Aster Restaurant in the Conrad in Nashville, Tennessee.
