Jacqueline Jubel

Jacqueline Jubel’s journey into wine was almost accidental. She grew up in Germany and came to New Zealand for an overseas experience, where she fell in love with the country, its people, and the hospitality industry. Wine soon followed. With New Zealand’s comparatively young wine industry comes innovation, and Jacqueline is committed to giving back to the community that has given me so much. Through wine list curation, staff training, and industry events, she works to inspire and educate.

Now co-owning a wine bar in Dunedin, she hopes to strengthen the city’s wine culture through tastings and community-based training. She continues to be amazed by people’s openness to share their knowledge of wine in the industry, and she wants to give back in the same way that the industry has helped her on her own journey. She says: “Looking to be a future ambassador for New Zealand and wine in general, I aim to highlight our unique qualities on the global stage while continuously learning from other wine-producing regions.”
