The Internship Programme

The Artémis Domaines Golden Vines® Victims of Conflict Scholarships offer meaningful assistance and career progression to wine professionals who have been affected by war and geo-political conflict. Each Scholar receives a 6-month paid, bespoke internship at one of Artémis Domaines world-renowned estates, learning new skills in viticulture and viniculture

Liquid Icons is hosting The Golden Vines Awards Ceremony & Dinner scheduled to take place in Paris, France on 13-15 October 2023 (the “Golden Vines event”). At that event, funds will be raised from The Fine Wine, Rare Spirit & Experience Global Online Charity Auction, as well as The Sotheby's Live Auction on the evening, for the Gérard Basset Foundation (the “Charity”). For The Artémis Domaines Golden Vines® Victims of Conflict Scholarships, the Charity will provide €50,000 (half of the funding), with the other €50,000 being provided by Artémis Domaines, to create 5 scholarships worth €20,000 each

Who is providing The Artémis Domaines Golden Vines® Victims of Conflict Scholarships?


Who can apply?

The Artémis Domaines Golden Vines® Victims of Conflict Scholarships (hereinafter ‘Artémis Domaines Scholars or Scholarships’) are available to any suitably qualified wine industry professionals who are victims of a geopolitical conflict.

The Artémis Domaines Scholars can be located anywhere in the world provided they have valid residence permits and/or working permits.

The Artémis Domaines Scholars need to be able to show and confirm that they meet the requirements set out for application to the Artémis Domaines Scholarships:

  • Students must be wine professionals, already working in the wine industry, with appropriate qualifications including, but not limited to, Diploma Advanced Technician (French BTS) in viticulture/oenology

  • Preferably, applicants will have previous experience working in a vineyard/winery

  • A conversational level of French and English speaking abilities are required

What is the deadline for applications for 2023?

3 July 2023

What is the process after I apply within the deadline?

Once applications close on 3 July, the Judges will review all applications and create a shortlist to be interviewed. Once these interviews have been conducted, the Judges will choose the winners by 31 July, when candidates will be informed of their decision.

What criteria do the Judges apply in awarding the Artémis Domaines  Scholarships?

The Judges will award the Artémis Domaines Scholarship on the basis of:

  • Meeting the Criteria

  • Ability

  • Needs

  • Benefit to be derived by the Scholar

What do the Artémis Domaines Scholarships comprise?


A financial award of up to €20,000 per Scholar.

The funding provided to the Artémis Domaines Scholars covers:

  • €3,440 per month for the duration of the Scholar’s work experience, half of which will be paid by Artémis Domaines by way of contract in accordance with applicable country laws (whereby tax and social security will thereafter be deducted) and half by the Gérard Basset Foundation as an educational grant.*

* The financial component of the Scholarship may be tax-exempt, in part or in whole, depending upon where the Scholars reside. Scholars need to consult their tax advisors accordingly

The non-financial component of the Artémis Domaines Scholarships comprises:

  • A 6-month work experience (beginning in September/October 2022 at Château Latour, Clos de Tart, and Eisele Vineyard; beginning in December/ January 2023 at Domaine d’Eugénie and Château Grillet)

  • Associated press commitments related to the award of their Artémis Domaines Scholarship for the duration of their work experience. 

  • Scholars will be responsible for ensuring that they have all the requisite valid work and residence permits for the duration of their work experience.
