An Accreditation from the Industry: Winning the 2025 V d'Or Business Award for Best Education and Knowledge Sharing in Wine
Winning the 2025 V d'Or Business Award for Best Education and Knowledge Sharing means more than just receiving a pretty trophy - although it certainly is very pretty! 😉
It is an accreditation from the industry that our work towards investing in people in our sector and giving everyone a fair chance is having an impact, not only on the individual beneficiaries but on the industry as a whole.
Wine Travel Awards very kindly wrote in their summary of the evening that we won our V d'Or Award because of our "outstanding contributions to wine education, with a strong emphasis on inclusion and accessibility... Their dedication to mentoring and fostering new talent continues to leave a significant impact on the industry."
So how do we achieve this impact? We do it in two ways.
1) Educational scholarships to individuals in the wine, spirits and hospitality industries.
Every year, we run multiple scholarships across different levels of education and with various aims, the goal being to knock down some of the biggest hurdles hindering talented and passionate individuals from advancing in - or even entering - our industry. We offer internships at world-renowned estates to applicants from all over the world, as well as supporting scholars as they undertake some of the industry's most challenging certifications, opening doors that they might otherwise never have had the opportunity to walk through. This enables them to use their talents and their passion for both their own progression, and for the benefit of the industry and everyone in it more widely.
2) Grants to organisations and initiatives operating in the wine, spirits and hospitality industries.
We want to have a global impact, and so we build relationships with and offer financial support each year to incredible organisations and initiatives all over the world that run programmes aimed at education, mentorship and community - always with an eye to reaching students who are at a disadvantage and would not have access to industry education on their own. One such grantee is Bordeaux Mentor Week, with whom we are thrilled to share this award. These projects help to open new career paths for the beneficiaries, enabling them to thrive in their chosen part of the industry and progress in their own personal and professional journey.
Therefore, our V d'Or Business Award for Best Education and Knowledge Sharing means an encouragement from the industry and an acknowledgement of the importance of our work. Thank you again, Vinexposium , for this recognition.
Together we can invest in the future of our industry by investing in the people who are trying their hardest to enter it.
